HLP has a strong team of lawyers that specialises in commercial and civil litigation. Headed by our co-founder, Harold Tan, we represent and advise clients in diverse aspects of dispute resolution. Our litigation lawyers have vast knowledge in the conduct of complex commercial and business-related disputes.

We have a focused team of litigators, some of whom are also qualified arbitrators and adjudicators. With more than 3 decades of experience amongst us, we have appeared and fought cases in all levels of the Malaysian judiciary, in arbitrations as well as hearings before the Special Commissioners of Income Tax and disciplinary proceedings before the Malaysian Medical Council.

We advise our clients to achieve practical and cost-effective results. We recognise that lengthy and expensive litigation is seldom the best solution and, whenever possible, we aim to assist our clients in resolving disputes with minimum cost. However, if legal proceedings cannot be avoided, we have the experience and expertise to ensure that our clients are effectively represented in those proceedings.

Our lawyers have obtained their educational qualifications both locally and abroad and have been trained to provide proactive, professional and responsive services. Apart from English and the National Language, due to our diverse racial and cultural backgrounds, we are able to communicate in many of the languages and dialects spoken in the region including, Mandarin, Cantonese and Tamil.
